Great writing from our enrichment day

Here is a selection of the writing from the enrichment day for years 2 and 3 which took place in December.

Peasmarsh Place

Pupils sang to residents at Peasmarsh Place to bring a little more Christmas joy to them.

The children wrote about their experiences below:

Write Stuff Group: St Matthew's Gospel 8:24-27

"And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. ²⁴And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. ²⁵And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. ²⁶And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. ²⁷But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!"

Rewrite this section from St Matthew's Gospel as if you were a reporter on board ship, witnessing the events first hand. Engage the reader with your account of this miraculous event.

Sailing the ocean waves

Please produce a piece of descriptive writing about sailing at speed. Use this video link on youtube to inspire you.

Check with your parents before you start using youtube as they may want to work alongside you and supervise your use of the internet.

The information sheets in your write stuff books contain some technical vocabulary about yachts and sails that you may find useful.
